Professional Christmas light installation in St. Anne IL with warm white LED roofline lights

Every so often a house comes along that just asks for lights. This one in St. Anne was that house. Strong roof lines, a few sharp peaks, and a tree in the front yard sitting right where it needed to be. The homeowner wanted the whole place lit, done right, and done without them touching a ladder. That is exactly the kind of project our crew lives for.

Below is a full breakdown of what we installed, what it cost, and what the homeowner gets for that price from now through takedown in January.

The Project

What We Installed on This St. Anne Home

This was a full exterior display using warm white commercial grade LEDs. Here is the scope:

  • Custom cut Minleon LED bulbs outlining every roof line on the front of the home
  • Peaks and gable lines lit to follow the architecture instead of cutting across it
  • One front yard tree wrapped in warm white 5mm LED mini lights
  • Hidden cord runs and a plug in timer so the display comes on by itself every evening
  • Season long maintenance and a January takedown with off season storage

The result is one consistent color temperature across the entire property. No mixed warm and cool bulbs, no dark gaps where a run came up short, no orange extension cords crossing the lawn.

The Difference

Why Custom Cut Lights Look Better Than Store Bought Strands

A box strand from the hardware store comes in one fixed length. Your roof line does not. So you either come up short and leave a dark section, or you run long and end up with a bunched tail of extra bulbs hanging off the corner. Both of those are the reason most do it yourself displays look close but never quite clean.

We build every run on site. The socket cord is measured against the actual roof line, cut to that exact length, and the bulbs are seated one at a time. Each run starts where the roof starts and ends where the roof ends. That is the whole trick, and it is the single biggest reason a professional install reads as sharp from the street.

We use Minleon commercial grade LEDs because they hold their color through an Illinois winter. Cheaper bulbs fade, shift toward yellow or pink, and start dropping out by New Year's. These do not.

All of our roof line lighting is installed with clips that attach to the shingle edge or gutter lip. No staples, no nails, no holes in your fascia. Nothing about a Christmas light install should leave a mark on your house.

The Tree

Wrapping the Front Yard Tree in Warm White Minis

The roof line does the outlining. The tree does the depth. Without something lit out in the yard, a display sits flat against the house and the front lawn stays a dark strip between the street and the light.

We wrapped this one in warm white 5mm LED mini lights, working the trunk first and then out along the main limbs. The 5mm bulbs are small enough that you see glow instead of individual dots, which is what gives a wrapped tree that soft look at night rather than a hard string of points.

Matching the minis to the same warm white as the roof line matters more than people expect. Two slightly different whites next to each other will look like a mistake even to someone who cannot name what is wrong.

Investment

What This Project Cost

This installation landed between $1,200 and $1,500 for the homeowner, all inclusive. That covers the full front roof line, the peaks, the wrapped tree, the timer, the maintenance, and the January takedown and storage.

Most of our residential displays price out on linear footage of roof line, at $6 per foot for the 2026 season. Smaller packages start at $749. A home this size with multiple peaks and a tree wrap sits in the middle of our range. Pricing depends on roof height, how many separate runs a design needs, and how much tree or landscape lighting gets added.

One thing worth saying plainly: you are not buying the lights. The lights stay ours. That is why the price includes replacement bulbs, storm repairs, takedown, and storage instead of leaving you with four tubs in the garage every January.

Included

What All Inclusive Actually Means

  • Design consultation. We walk the property, measure, and lay out where the light should go before anything gets ordered.
  • Custom cut materials. Commercial grade Minleon LEDs, socket cord, clips, and connectors built to your home.
  • Professional installation. Our insured crew handles every ladder and every roof line.
  • Automatic timer. Set once, and the display runs on schedule all season.
  • Season long maintenance. If a section goes out or wind moves a run, you call us and we come fix it.
  • Takedown and storage. We pull everything in January and store it until next season.

Holiday lighting is seasonal, but we are out here year round. The same crew handles house washing, roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, and window cleaning. Members of our Green Pro Clean Club get priority booking for the holiday season plus a discount on their light installation.

Booking

Book Before the Calendar Fills

Install season runs from late October through the first half of December, and the good weather weekends go first. Homeowners who book in September and early October get their pick of install dates. The ones who call the week of Thanksgiving are usually looking at whatever is left.
