The short answer

No, it is not too late. Our 2026 install season runs from early October through early December across Kankakee County and Will County. What changes week to week is how much choice you have. Book in September or early October and you pick your install week, including the stretch before Thanksgiving. Book in November and you take whatever gaps are left, which usually means late November or the first week of December.

The 2026 Calendar, Month By Month

Here is how a holiday lighting calendar actually fills in this part of Illinois. Not a scare tactic, just the pattern that repeats every year.

When You Book What You Get
September Your pick of any week, including pre-Thanksgiving
Early October Most dates open, pre-Thanksgiving still available
Late October Pre-Thanksgiving weeks going fast
Early November Gaps only, usually late November
Late November Whatever is left, often early December
December Rare and weather dependent

The thing most homeowners misjudge is that the install season does not line up with the holiday season. Our crews start hanging lights in early October, long before anyone wants them on, because there are not enough usable days between Thanksgiving and Christmas to install a full book of customers.

Why The Calendar Closes Earlier Than You Would Think

  • A fixed number of install days. Early October through early December is roughly nine weeks, and weather eats some of them
  • Short days. Once we lose daylight in November, a crew gets fewer homes done per day than it does in October
  • Weather. A hard freeze, ice, or snow stops roof work outright, and those days do not come back
  • Returning customers. They rebook before the general calendar opens, so some of the best weeks are claimed before most people start thinking about lights
  • Pre-Thanksgiving demand. Almost everybody wants the same two or three weeks, and we only have so many

Installs run from early October. Your timer decides when the display actually starts.

The Objection That Keeps People From Booking

Almost every October call includes some version of the same hesitation. It is too early, I do not want my lights on in October, the neighbors will think we lost our minds.

You are not turning them on. We install, test the whole display, and set the auto timer to whatever date you choose. Thanksgiving weekend is the most common pick around here. The lights sit dark on the roof until then, and after that they come on at dusk and shut off overnight without you doing anything.

So an October install is not an October display. It is simply the version of this where you get the date you want and the work is done before the weather gets ugly.

What Waiting Actually Costs You

  • You stop choosing your install week and start accepting one
  • Your odds of a weather delay go up, since late November and December are when that happens here
  • You risk missing the $100 off, which ends at Thanksgiving on November 26
  • If the season closes out, the honest answer becomes next year, and no amount of calling changes it

Common Questions

2026 Booking FAQ

Not yet, but what you can choose narrows every week. Our 2026 install season runs from early October through early December. Homes booked in September and early October get first pick of dates, including the weeks before Thanksgiving. Bookings that come in during November get placed in whatever gaps remain, which often means late November or the first week of December.

You can usually still get installed, you just stop choosing when. November bookings go into the gaps left in the schedule, and a stretch of bad weather can push an install with very little notice. The $100 off promotion also ends at Thanksgiving, so a November booking that slips past the 26th loses the discount.

Early October, and we run through early December, weather permitting. That surprises people every year, but it is how every established crew works. There are not enough usable days between Thanksgiving and Christmas to install a full book of customers.

Only if you want them to. We install, test everything, and set the timer for whatever date you choose. Plenty of our customers get installed in October and leave the display dark until Thanksgiving weekend. The lights are up and ready, and you decide when the season starts.

We keep installing into early December when the weather cooperates. What we cannot control is a hard freeze or a snow event, which stops roof work outright. Those are the weeks where a late booking turns into a maybe instead of a date.

Yes. Returning customers can rebook their install week before the general calendar opens, which is why some of the best dates are gone before most people start thinking about lights.

All inclusive packages start at $749 per season across Kankakee County and Will County. The price depends on how much roofline gets lit, the number of stories, and how many peaks and ridges are involved. With $100 off applied to installs booked by Thanksgiving, that starting point comes down accordingly.

Design for your specific roofline, commercial grade LED lights custom cut on site, an auto timer, maintenance through the season at no extra charge, removal in January, and storage until the following year. You never buy a strand, store a bin, or climb a ladder.
