What Is Included With Professional Christmas Light Installation in Mokena?

By Jeremiah Green, Green Pro Services of Kankakee LLC | Serving Mokena and Will County, IL

Seven things, and you do not buy any of them. A professional Christmas light installation in Mokena includes the design, the lights themselves, the installation, an automatic timer, in season repairs, January takedown, and off season storage. One price covers all of it for the whole season.

Everything in one price: design consult, commercial grade LED lights, custom cutting to your roofline, professional installation, automatic timer, in season repairs at no charge, January removal, and storage at our facility until next season.

You do not own a single strand and you do not store a single bin.

What Each Piece Actually Means

1. The design consult

Before anything gets cut we look at your home and decide what to light. Roofline only, or roofline plus peaks. Warm white or a color. Whether the two trees by the driveway are worth wrapping or whether the shrubs along the walk carry more impact for less money. On most Mokena homes we can do the first pass on satellite imagery and refine it on site.

2. The lights

We supply commercial grade LED lights. These are not the strands at the hardware store. They are weather rated, they run cooler, they hold color through a full Illinois winter, and they are built to be reinstalled season after season. Because we own them, replacing a failed section is our problem and not a trip to the store for you.

3. Custom cutting and installation

Every run is cut to your roofline. That is the difference between a display that follows every line cleanly and one with a dark gap at the end of the garage where the strand ran out. Clips are matched to your gutter or shingle type. Cords are routed to keep them out of sight.

4. The automatic timer

Set once, on at dusk and off at dawn, every night, without you touching anything. No walking outside in twenty degree weather to plug in a cord.

5. In season repairs

If a section goes dark in December, you call and we come fix it at no additional charge. This is where the difference between a real service and a one time hang job shows up. Bulbs fail, squirrels chew, wind moves things. The whole season is covered through New Year's.

6. January takedown

We come back in January and pull everything. Lights, clips, cords, timer. Nothing left on the gutter line and nothing in your landscaping beds. Full detail on how that works is in our takedown and storage guide.

7. Off season storage

Your display goes back to our facility, labeled to your address, and stays there until next season. No bins in your garage, no tangled strands in the attic, no wondering in October which box the good lights ended up in.

What Is Not Included

Just as important, and most companies will not put it in writing. Here is what a standard Mokena install does not cover.

  • Inflatables, yard decor and figures. We light architecture and landscaping. Blow up snowmen are on you.
  • Interior decorating. We work outside only.
  • Electrical panel work. We plug into your existing exterior outlets. If a home needs new circuits or GFCI outlets added, that is a licensed electrician's job and we will tell you before we quote.
  • Lights you already own. We install our own lights only. That is what lets us guarantee the season and cover repairs.
  • Permanent lighting. Year round track lighting is a separate product with a separate price. See our permanent lighting page if that is what you are actually after.

Five Questions To Ask Any Mokena Installer

If you are comparing quotes, these five questions separate full service companies from hang and run outfits. Ask them exactly as written.

Ask this What a good answer sounds like What should worry you
Who owns the lights? We do. They are ours and we store them. You buy them, or it is left vague.
Is takedown a separate charge? No, it is in the price. Takedown is a line item or an optional add on.
What happens if a section goes dark in December? Call us, we fix it at no charge. Repairs billed hourly or as a service call.
Are the lights cut to my roofline? Yes, custom cut for your home. Standard strand lengths, gaps at the ends.
Are you insured for work in Will County? Yes, and here is the certificate. Hesitation, or an insurance answer with no paperwork.

Why We Package It This Way

Because the alternative is worse for everybody. When a company sells you the lights, they have no reason to care whether those lights still work in year three. When takedown is billed separately, January turns into a negotiation. Bundling the whole season means we are on the hook for the display looking right from install through New Year's, which is the only arrangement that makes sense for a company that has to keep earning more than 100 five star Google reviews in a town this small.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Seven things: the design consult, commercial grade LED lights we supply, custom cutting and professional installation, an automatic timer, in season repairs at no extra charge, removal in January, and storage at our facility until the next season. One per season price covers all of it and you do not buy any equipment.

No, and that is by design. Green Pro Services owns the lights, stores them, maintains them, and reinstalls them the following year. Because the strands are custom cut to your specific roofline they are not useful on another home anyway, and company owned lights are what allows us to cover in season repairs at no charge.

No. Takedown and storage are included in every installation price in Mokena. There is no separate removal fee and no storage fee. If a competing quote lists takedown as an optional line item, it is not a comparable price.

Call us and we come out and fix it at no additional charge. In season maintenance runs from installation through New Year's and covers failed bulbs, storm damage, and anything that stops working. It is part of the package, not a service call.

No. We install our own commercial grade LED lights only. That is what lets us guarantee the display for the full season and repair anything that fails at no charge. We cannot warranty hardware we did not supply.

Yes. Green Pro Services of Kankakee LLC carries full general liability insurance covering all work throughout Illinois including Will County, and we provide a certificate of insurance before any job on request.
