Why We Sponsor A Light Walk At Perry Farm Park

A Light Walk at Perry Farm Park in Bourbonnais, Illinois

Every December, thousands of lights go up at Perry Farm Park and families from Bradley, Bourbonnais, and all over Kankakee County come out to walk through them. Green Pro Services is a sponsor of that event, and our crew is out there in the fall doing the work that makes it happen. Here is what the Light Walk is, what we contribute, and how your business can be part of it too.

What A Light Walk At Perry Farm Park Is

A Light Walk at Perry Farm Park is a holiday light display you walk through instead of drive past. The Friends of the Bourbonnais Township Park District Foundation puts it on, and the whole thing is built by local artists, local businesses, and volunteers who show up with ideas and time.

You park for free off Croswell Ave, follow the lighted lane past the barn, and take your time. There is a light tunnel you can step inside near the barn. There is a spiral tree topped with a wooden star. The chicken coop gets lit up with glowing chickens and roosters. Rows of icicle lights come straight up out of the ground in a nod to Perry Farm's history. Chainsaw carvings sit lit along the path. And somewhere near the parking lot, the Grinch is up to something.

Bring a hot cocoa and a warm coat and you have a night out that costs nothing and everybody remembers.

What Our Crew Does For The Walk

We do not just write a check and put our name on a sign. Our Christmas light installers are on site doing the same work we do on customer homes all season, only bigger and colder.

  • We install the Christmas lights on the rooflines of the barns, which is the backbone of the whole display
  • We help plan and design the layout so the path reads well from every angle and nothing feels like an afterthought
  • We run the electrical that keeps every display lit and safe through the whole season
  • We pitch in wherever the foundation needs hands during setup

Barn rooflines are not a typical residential job. The runs are long, the angles are odd, and the permanent pavilion lighting has to coordinate with everything we add. That is exactly the kind of problem our team enjoys, and it is why we volunteered for this piece of the project.

Our crew hangs lights for a living. Getting to hang them for the whole town is the best week of our season.

Where The Sponsorship Money Actually Goes

This is the part that sold us. Sponsorship dollars get split down the middle. Half goes to the Friends of BTPD Youth Camp Scholarship Fund, which sends local kids to summer camp who otherwise would not get to go. The other half goes right back into the Light Walk so the display grows every year.

So one sponsorship pays off twice. Families get a free holiday tradition in December, and a kid in Bourbonnais Township gets a week of camp in July. There is no marketing budget line that feels better to sign off on than that one.

The Foundation Is Looking For More Local Sponsors

New displays get added as new sponsors come aboard. That is the whole model. The walk grows in direct proportion to how many local businesses decide to jump in, which means there is room right now for restaurants, contractors, shops, dealerships, medical offices, churches, and family businesses of any size.

You can sponsor a display that already exists or come up with something of your own. If you have an idea that fits your business, the foundation wants to hear it.

Put Your Business On The Light Walk

The Friends of the Bourbonnais Township Park District Foundation is accepting sponsorships for the coming season. Half of what you give funds youth camp scholarships and half grows the walk itself. Reach out and they will walk you through the options.

Why This Matters For Bradley And Bourbonnais

Small towns keep their character because people decide to build things in them. The Light Walk is still young, and it is already the kind of event people plan their December around. Give it a few more years and a few more sponsors and it becomes the thing families drive in from other counties to see.

Perry Farm Park is the right home for it. The barn, the open ground, the pavilion, the history of the place all give the display something to hang on that a parking lot display never gets. Walking it feels like a farm at Christmas, not a light show in a field.

Want That Look On Your Own House?

The same crew that lights the barns at Perry Farm Park handles residential and commercial displays across Kankakee County and Will County. Our Christmas light installation packages cover the design, commercial grade LEDs cut to your roofline, an auto timer, season long maintenance, January takedown, and storage until next year. You never touch a ladder.

Fall books up fast, and most preferred dates are gone by mid-October. Call (815) 650-0397 or find us on Google to see our work, read reviews, and get on the schedule.

And if you are a business owner reading this, take a look at what the foundation is putting together. It is a good cause, it is right here at home, and there is a display with your name on it waiting to be built.

Light Up Your Own Roofline This Year

All-inclusive Christmas light packages start at $749 per season with design, installation, maintenance, January removal, and storage included. Serving Kankakee County and Will County, Illinois.
