Testing Our 2026 Christmas Light Products Before Install Season Starts

It is August in Kankakee, the grass is still green, and I am out back plugging in Christmas lights. That probably looks a little early to most people. It is right on time for us.

In the video above I am standing in front of a tree wrapped in 5mm warm white mini lights. That tree is a test. Every product we plan to hang on your house this winter gets run before we ever load it on a trailer. Warm white minis for tree and bush wraps, C9 bulbs for rooflines, timers, plugs, and cord. If a strand flickers or a color reads cool instead of warm, I want to know about it now, not in November with a ladder against your gutter and daylight running out.

What we test before install season

  • Color consistency. Warm white should look warm across every strand. Mixed batches show up fast once they are side by side on the same tree.
  • Bulb and socket quality. We pull bulbs, reseat them, and check for loose sockets before the product ever goes on a job.
  • Cold weather performance. Commercial grade LED holds up through a Kankakee County winter. Big box strands usually do not.
  • Timers and power. Every install includes an auto timer, so we confirm the timers cycle on and off the way they should.
  • Coverage math. Wrapping a trunk and branches eats more light than people expect. Testing tells us exactly how much wire a tree of a given size takes so your quote is accurate.

We do this because our install is all inclusive. Custom cut commercial LEDs, professional installation, an auto timer, season long maintenance, then takedown and storage in January. When a bulb goes out mid season, we come fix it. That only works if the product is right before the season starts.

Why booking early actually matters

Christmas light installation is not like a house wash. We cannot add days to the calendar. The install window runs from October into early December, and once those routes fill, they are full. Last season we were turning people away while they were still deciding.

Booking early does three things for you. It locks your spot on the schedule. It gives us time to measure your roofline and cut your strands to fit your house instead of guessing. And it lets you pick your install week rather than taking whatever is left after Thanksgiving.

Install packages start at $749 and cover everything from design to January takedown and storage. Call (815) 650-0397 or request a quote online to get on the 2026 schedule.

Clean Club members book first

If you are a Green Pro Clean Club member, you do not have to race anyone for a spot. Members get priority scheduling on every service we offer, holiday lighting included, and 15 percent off all inclusive Christmas light installation.

The Clean Club is our recurring plan for homeowners and business owners in Kankakee and Will County. You pick your visits for the year, we handle the house wash, gutters, windows, and flatwork on a set schedule, and your exterior stays clean without you thinking about it. The holiday discount is one of the reasons people sign up in the first place.

  • Priority scheduling ahead of general booking
  • 15 percent off Christmas light installation
  • Discounted pricing on window cleaning, gutter cleaning, and pressure washing
  • A clean exterior year round with no scheduling headaches

You can read the plans on our Clean Club page, and we can add holiday lighting to your member schedule the same day you sign up.

Where we install

Green Pro installs Christmas lights across Kankakee County and Will County, including Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Manteno, Frankfort, Crete, and Monee. If your town is not on that list, call and ask. We add to the route where it makes sense.

The lights are tested. The trailer is getting loaded. The only thing left is your address on the calendar.
