What Colors Can I Get on a Flake Garage Floor?

Green Pro Services installs 21 decorative chip blends on garage floors across Kankakee County and Will County. The lineup covers cool grays, warm tans, bold blues, high-contrast black and white, and four marble-look blends that mimic natural stone. Every blend comes in three chip sizes, so the same color can read rustic or refined depending on the cut.

The chips are vinyl, broadcast to full rejection over a pigmented polyaspartic base coat, then locked in with a clear UV-stable topcoat. Your color choice lasts. No fading, no yellowing, no hot tire pickup.

Scroll the gallery below, shortlist two or three favorites, and we will bring physical samples to your estimate. Screens lie. Real chips against your walls tell the truth.

The Full Color Chart: 17 Signature Blends + 4 Marble Blends

Every blend below installs under the same UV-stable polyaspartic system. Gray families dominate the request list, but the warm tans earn their keep on homes with brick, stone, or beige siding.

Watch: How to Choose Your Garage Floor Color

Three questions settle the color decision for most Kankakee County homeowners. This 4-minute walkthrough covers all three, plus which blends stand up to Illinois road salt.

A Quick Guide to the Blends

Classic grays: Wombat, Gravel, Stargazer, and Nightfall are the workhorses. Wombat is our most requested blend, Gravel carries steel blue undertones, and Nightfall runs darkest for floors that face Illinois salt season.

Light and bright: Feather Gray, Coyote, and Cabin Fever open up dim garages. Domino splits the difference with a bold black and white pattern that pops under LED shop lights.

Warm tans: Outback, Safari, Shoreline, and Autumn Brown pair with brick homes and tan siding. Autumn Brown runs darkest of the four and hides shop dirt well.

Best dirt-hiders: Creekbed takes the crown. Taupe, brown, gray, and cream in one busy blend means dust, salt residue, and leaf debris disappear into the pattern. Glacier does the same job in cool tones.

A little color: Stonewash and Tidal Wave slip soft slate blue into a gray base for color without commitment. Orbit goes all in with vivid blue, the showpiece pick for man caves and race fans.

Marble blends: Carbon, Basalt, Pumice, and Dolerite carry veined striations like cut stone, so the finished floor reads as natural marble or granite instead of confetti. Carbon runs near black and dramatic, Basalt is the closest match to real granite, Pumice brings warm travertine character, and Dolerite mixes blue-gray with warm brown for river-rock depth. The upgrade pick for showpiece garages and finished basements.

Three Chip Sizes, Three Different Looks

Every blend above comes in three cuts. Same colors, very different personality on the floor.

1/4"

The Standard

Bold, visible chips with the classic flake floor look. What we install on most residential garages.

1/8"

The Refined

Tighter, more uniform texture. Softens the pattern for finished garages and basement floors.

1/16"

The Granite Look

Fine speckle that reads as solid stone from a distance. Popular for modern homes and commercial spaces.

How Do I Choose the Right Garage Floor Color?

Start with how you use the garage, then match your home. Three questions settle it for most of our customers:

1. Is this a work garage or a show garage? Daily drivers, mowers, and salt-covered winter parking call for a mid or dark multi-tone blend like Creekbed, Nightfall, or Autumn Brown. Detailed cars and finished spaces can pull off lighter blends like Feather Gray or a marble upgrade.

2. Is your home warm or cool toned? Brick, tan siding, and bronze fixtures point to Outback, Safari, or Shoreline. Gray siding, white trim, and black fixtures point to Wombat, Gravel, or Glacier. When in doubt, Creekbed and Stonewash bridge both worlds.

3. How bright is the space? Dark blends absorb light in a garage with one bulb and no windows. If your garage runs dim, a light or medium blend keeps it from feeling like a cave. If you run LED shop lights, anything goes.

Still stuck between two? Tell us both at your estimate. We hold real chip samples against your walls and vehicle so you can see the winner in your own lighting before we mix a single batch.

Flake Color FAQs

What is the most popular garage floor coating color?

Gray blends lead most projects. Wombat, Gravel, and Nightfall pair with almost any home, hide tire marks, and stay looking clean. Warm tans like Outback and Safari run a close second on brick and beige homes.

Which garage floor color hides dirt best?

Multi-tone blends with medium and dark chips. Creekbed, Autumn Brown, Nightfall, and Glacier mix several shades in one floor, so dust and salt residue blend into the pattern instead of standing out.

Can I see samples before I commit?

Yes. We bring physical flake samples to every in-person estimate in Kankakee County and Will County. Screens shift color, so we always recommend holding real chips against your walls and vehicle before you pick.

What chip size should I choose?

Quarter inch is the residential standard and the classic flake look. Eighth inch gives a tighter, more uniform texture. Sixteenth inch reads like solid granite from a distance and suits modern or commercial spaces.

Do flake colors fade over time?

No. The vinyl chips sit under a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat, so the color you pick on day one stays put. Polyaspartic resists yellowing and sun fade far better than DIY epoxy kits.
